N2 - Leafcutter Bee and False Sunflower Signed Print

A Giclee print of a pencil and acrylic paint illustration. A Leafcutter Bee (Megachilidae rotundata) visits a False Sunflower (Heliopsis helianthoides) growing at the head of the long abandoned logging trail we converted to a therapeutic strollway. There are ample downed and decaying trees where these solitary bees make their nests. In year one working on the compound we saw a few of these. But when the trail was cleared of decades of debris and overgrowth, the spread of wildflowers along the more sunlit parts of the trail brought more of these residents out to the new resources for structural materials for their nests and their pollination activities.
